45 of 51 – Light Painting

Good evening everyone. Or I should say good night (ok, it’s not so late for most of you, but… I’m speaking for myself  🙄 )

This is a shot I took while attending the GSFP (Gruppo di Supporto Fotografi Pigri – Support Group for Lazy Photographers), for the exercise on Light Painting.

[su_pullquote] Light painting is an imaging technique that uses a moving light source to add light to an under-illuminated subject while taking a long-exposure photograph. (Digital Photography School)[/su_pullquote]

You can use light  (a flashlight, a candle…) to draw in the dark, or you can use that same source to “paint” light on a dark subject.

The photo here below has been shot in complete dark, with a long shutter speed (20 seconds) and the mobile phone flashlight.

It’s not a technique I master, and for sure I will keep studying 😉
